The seniormost chimpanzee of India

The name of the India's seniormost chimpanzee is Rita. It is 58 years old.

At 58 years, Rita has found a place in the Limca Book of Records for being the oldest chimpanzee in India.

Rita was born in amsterdam Zoo on December 15, 1960, and was brought to Delhi in 1964, in exchange for domestic cranes.
